Hospitality is the heart of Nativity as a parish. We are warm, welcoming, and supportive. When newcomers or long term parishioners are asked to describe Nativity "welcoming" is the word that is used repeatedly. So why have a separate "hospitality" ministry? We find that those who are friendly and extraverted thrive on creating a warm welcoming environment at a church event. Often that environment involves providing snacks or meals, and these members love to cook or bake, and share. So if you are interested in helping contact the us below.
USHERS AND GREETERS:
Our ushers are often the first to meet people coming into the church and are called to make people feel comfortable and welcome. They not only offer bulletins or other materials for worship, but help people navigate the worship space, hymnals, and prayer book. They also invite those interested in coffee hour after Sunday worship. They truly act as the 'hosts' to God's table.. If interested in this ministry contact us below.
Prayer is powerful and healing. "Amen Amen I say to you, whatever you ask from the Father, He will give it to you in My name” (John 16::23) Our "prayer warriors" pray for others...for the sick, the troubled, those facing surgery. No need is too small. Some of the members of this ministry want to contribute, and this is a powerful, loving way to do so, no matter your situation. Contact us below.
Eucharistic Ministers administer the sacrament of bread and wine (if not restricted) to those shut in or unable to attend a eucharistic worship service. Ministers are trained and licensed. Contact us below if interested.
One of the gifts of Nativity is our love of community. We know that the unexpected happens, and our 'family members' need help. Our loving, talented and caring members of our food ministry steps in...preparing and delivering meals to those who have a set back, such as chemo, an accident, or some mishap that leaves them vulnerable for a while until they get back on their feet. If you love to cook, and care for others this ministry may call you. Contact our office below to answer that call.
