Maundy Thursday, 4-1

Writer's picture: Linda LeBlancLinda LeBlanc

Maundy Thursday – April 1st at 7:00 P.M.

The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin “mandatum novum,” meaning “new commandment”, a reference from John 13:34. The ceremony of footwashing and the commemoration of the institution of the eucharist at the Last Supper by Jesus are the main foci of this service. Following the conclusion of the service, all decorative furnishings are removed from the church and the altar is stripped and washed. The people leave the service and church in silence. There will be no prayer vigil this year. Reservations and masks are required. Click on the calendar/events below and RSVP.
