ALL ARE WELCOME TO WORSHIP AT NATIVITY
Visitors and members from every denomination and spiritual background find a welcome place at Church of the Nativity. We are a traditional Episcopal church and our services are based on The Book of Common Prayer. Our life together is based upon faith in and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, a life characterized by limitless self-giving love of God and neighbor.. It’s a tall order and we do it imperfectly. We strive to be welcoming to all, regardless of race, creed or lifestyle.
Each of us is on a spiritual journey, seeking the path to a sustaining relationship with God and with others. We at Nativity are pilgrims like you, and have chosen to journey with one another. We recognize that we can be spiritual people on our own. Our religious practice gives us support and accountability. At Nativity, we have become part of a living tradition which speaks to us profoundly, and challenges us to find greater meaning in everyday life as we grow into deeper faith. We come from a broad variety of religious upbringings or no religious background at all.
Our worship service is simple and inclusive. We use modern language, and more streamlined ceremony. Please know that we welcome both you and your children at worship. RELAX! God put the wiggle in children and we appreciate the sound of children’s voices. We move a lot in our worship, sitting and standing and kneeling. We worship with our entire bodies, including our minds.
After the service, if you have the time or the inclination be sure to come to coffee hour in our Parish Hall for light refreshments and to meet members of the congregation. Don’t forget to sign our visitor book if you wish.
