“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:1-5
In this passage, Jesus demonstrates how important it is for us to stay connected to him source of our DNA and nourishment. That is the only way we can grow.We may be able to survive apart from the vine for a period of time, but we cannot produce fruit on our own. A connection to Jesus as our vine is essential to our growth.
What does it mean to get your DNA and nourishment from God?
Where do you get your nourishment? What nourishes you?
What would it be like if Jesus was your source of nourishment? What would it take?
